Dear con law and wester civ teachers,
Seriously. Post the grades. I’ve already got my grades for the class with the last-minute term paper. (He gave me an A. Hilarious!)
You’ve had my finals for a week now. If you really want to be lazy, just give me the same grade that you gave me for the midterm. I haven’t gotten any cleverer since then.
Dear other teachers,
Thanks for the grade inflation. I owe you one.
Love,
Katie

Maybe you remember that bad dream I had about a midterm and how I’d completely forgotten to study for the test I had that day.
(Amazingly, I ended up setting the curve for that exam.)
I just talked to my professor. He did his grades last night, and I got a 97 percent overall.
I love electives. And I love multiple choice tests even more.
Now I just have to pass the rest of my exams (constitutional law, western civ II, congress). Sadly, they are not multiple choice.

I have two finals tomorrow. Two really, really hard finals. Two finals that I am in no way prepared for.
But the Grey’s Anatomy finale was tonight.
I think Grey’s Anatomy has ruined my academic career.

I finally got around to picking up my cap and gown for graduation today.
So, why didn’t anyone warn me?
The “gown”? It’s black and plastic. I could wear a garbage bag and no one would know the difference. I paid $17 for what I could have gotten for free from my kitchen cabinet.
I know I shouldn’t expect much for $17. But this probably cost no more than two dollars to make. It’s that shitty.
At least they could have used a lighter color so we don’t get so hot sitting in the sun all day.

There is a recurring dream I’ve had several times during college, with slight variations each time. The basic idea is that I’ve arrived at the location of the final exam for a course I’ve never bothered to study for — in fact, I never even attended the lectures.
In the first dream, it was Chem II, shortly after I had suffered through Chem I in real life. Another time, it was an introductory art history class, and an old high school friend was there too. This morning, just before my alarm went off, it was fashion.
I know, weird. I think this one was actually a midterm. It was an open-book exam, and all our books were fashion magazines. But there was a take-home component (we had to make a web page?) that I hadn’t done either.
So in the shower this morning, I was pondering the meaning of these dreams. This one clearly was a subconscious self-critique on (a) my hubris as a student, and (b) the excessive amount of Project Runway I’ve been watching.
And perhaps it’s fitting that today, the day I go fill out all the paperwork I need so that I can graduate in May, I have this recurring bad dream.
And then I realized I do have an exam today.
Fuck.

I watched the Kansas/Iowa State football game from home today. Okay, so I tuned in halfway through the fourth quarter. (Shut up. If I were a real fan, I’d be sitting in the student section instead of on my couch.)
We were behind, but I knew we’d catch up. Even though I don’t usually watch them play, I have faith in my team. And we did catch up. And then we went into overtime. And then we won.
And it was awesome.
