“America is addicted to oil”

I don’t know if you actually meant any of the section of your speech tonight, Mr. President, but after that, for the first time in your presidency, I didn’t want to kick you in the balls. And I feel kinda good about that. Thanks.

Now make your promises about a more fuel-efficient America happen. Bring down the prices of hybrid/alternative-fuel cars, and I’ll buy one.

  1. Did you notice that he took all the protest slogans from his presidency and threw them into the speech to sound like they were lines of support? (see first 10 minutes on bring home the troops)

  2. i am researching and writing a dissertation on BMW and their attitudes towards hybrid cars, among other things, right now. it’s a very interesting subject as i feel strongly about environmental concerns.

  3. The government niether controls the price of oil, nor the price of cars. Just thought I’d point that out.

  4. Certainly they don’t control every factor that influences the actual prices of oil and automobiles, but they certainly affect the prices. So, uh, what’s your point?
