I heart NPR

Since I became a commuter (love that out-of-town internship), I’ve started listening to NPR on the drive. I never really thought that I’d listen to Marketplace on purpose.
Today on Morning Edition, they continued coverage of Congress’s love-hate relationship with public broadcasting. They mentioned one legislator who suggested that NPR is just commercial-free news for the affluent.
You know, that kinda annoyed me.
What annoyed you about the comment, Katie? I kind of read it as one of those back-handed compliments kind of like the time one of my history profs told us that as university students we were part of the elite class of people. One year later I went, diploma in hand, to a $4.50/hr job.

Oh, I know. NPR keeps me more awake during the two and a half hour drive to visit the boyfriend than any music station does.

Thought I’d comment and thank you for turning me onto the RSS. I’d also like to tell you that you have some pretty good tastes in the music.
