Since I became a commuter (love that out-of-town internship), I’ve started listening to NPR on the drive. I never really thought that I’d listen to Marketplace on purpose.
Today on Morning Edition, they continued coverage of Congress’s love-hate relationship with public broadcasting. They mentioned one legislator who suggested that NPR is just commercial-free news for the affluent.
You know, that kinda annoyed me.

I have to confess, I’m really excited about Hogan Knows Best.
Seriously.

If you google for Katie, I’m result #18. If you search for katie on Yahoo, I’m #10. (As my referrer logs point out.)
Does this mean Yahoo likes me more or Google just knows more popular Katies?
I’d think, considering Katie’s pretty much the most common name/nickname in my birth year, I’d be much lower due to sheer volume of Katies. The only real effect from being high in the search results is that I get a lot of accidental hits from people looking for porn models named Katie.
Uh, good to know.

My boss took me out to lunch. The restaurant had Pepsi, not Coke. Apparently my body knows the difference between the two. It’s punishing me with a migraine.
This was the week I was going to quit drinking Diet Coke. Again. For real this time, maybe. But I think I prefer being a slave to the addiction over the withdrawal.
I miss my Diet Coke.
