Me: We’re human. We’re not rational. We do stupid, stupid things because we’re not rational. We care, and so we do the illogical. And there are no apologies to be made or guilt to be had over it. That’s just the way of things.
Him: oh.
So in the middle of talking some sense into a old, self-deprecating friend, it occurs to me that I’d be wise to listen to myself. I’ve been on a rationality trip the past couple days, and all it does is make me feel soulless.

Seriously, Nader, I don’t know what you’re smoking, but you are fucking things up for the Democrats. Knock it off, dude. This is just the way a two-party system works. Third-party candidates don’t win, they just piss people off. Didn’t you ever take Comparative Politics in college? Because I did and we learned alllll about this. Sorry to disappoint.

I have rewritten this entry several times, but it comes down to this: I skipped class to watch the last episode of Sex and the City as soon as I could get my hands on a copy.
You know, that was a damn good show.
And yes, I cried.
Shut up.

If you have wondered what I’ve been up to the past week, this is most of it:
- Stressing out about International Dinner.
- Stressing out about meeting The Parents.
- Stressing out about International Dinner.
- Stressing out about homework.
- Doing homework.
- Trying out recipes for International Dinner.
- Stressing out about International Dinner.
- Meeting The Parents.
- Reflecting on meeting The Parents.
- Stressing out about International Dinner.
- Trying out recipes for International Dinner.
- Stressing out about International Dinner, but not quite so bad, because people seem to really like the recipes I’ve prepared.
And besides the stress, I’m doing great. Really great. So worry not, dearest readers.

After years of searching, today I–mostly accidentally–found my sister’s TOP SECRET livejournal.
It’s a small victory, I know, but it was really quite thrilling.
Update: And via Sister One, I found Sister Two’s livejournal as well. It’s so very, very freaky, because when I moved out for college just before they started high school, and now they sound…all grown up, it seems. So full of personality, so sophisticated, such good taste (I trained them well, you see). Quite a trip.
PS > Caroline, I do not have “tendencies to hate [you].” Frankly, you’re the coolest.

Instead of flowers, John got me crayons for Valentine’s Day. Now THAT is a man who understands me.
