Not another ecrush…
I just got the book I ordered two days ago. [Amazon ships so quickly to Wichita! Whee!]
I think this really cements my geekdom. It’s Derek Powazek’s Design for Community. [And I have a top secret reason for buying this book. One which I will not reveal until...well, not for a while.]
I’ve only flipped through it so far, but I love it! Of course, partly this is because I have an ecrush on Powazek. I mean, what’s not to love about a famous web designer who’s nice and takes his girlfriend to Europe [that is, when he's not broke]? But also, it’s well written and helpful. I like that he’s willing to admit he doesn’t have all the answers himself: he incorporates interviews with “thought leaders” who’ve all got successful community sites.
Yeah, I’ll quit gushing and just read the damn book.
