I want a swing, up high, so I can sit several feet above the ground and see farther. I will understand things. I will hear what I need to hear. I will see where I am needed. I will climb down and go to where I am needed, do what I was called to do. I will have a sense of real contentment and things will be better.
Oh, that it were that easy…
Organic salad from the grocery store = good.
Organic chemistry = less good.
Organic lines in photography class = probably not what comes most naturally to me.
Yes, I’m taking Creative Photo this year, and while I have not taken a single photograph, I’ve made things that look like this with construction paper:
Twenty years from now, when you’re listening to an “oldies” radio station that plays the songs that were popular in the 1990s, will it take you back to memories of driving down the highway, radio cranked up, windows cranked down, singing along and laughing? Will you still think of that same person that the song reminded you of then? Will you still remember all the lyrics perfectly?
I know I will.
When I move out, I’m going to leave my old CDs in a box here. And after college, when I get my own place, I’m going to get that box and put it in a closet. And then one day when my kids are bored, I will get out that box, dig to the bottom, pull out Jewel’s “Pieces of You” and tell them how it was the first CD I bought, back in junior high. They will wonder how I could stand to listen to it. Hell, I’ll probably wonder too.
I would blog all kinds of naughty, mean things if no one read this. So, thanks for reading. You help keep me under control.

I bought a book on PHP today. I need to figure out how to do a couple of things the make publishing Justin’s comics a little easier, and I’m thinking a little PHP would make it really easy. Well, if I do it as I’d like to, it’d reduce the space required on the server, and maybe I could automate a lot of the updating process. I’m thinking Greymatter might make it easy — not that I’m one of those “Blogger sucks, so I switched” people. I’m just thinking that slightly different options might make it a lot easier.
